Honubelle x Dreamboat Float

Honubelle x Dreamboat Float

FYI:  This is the 2019 event information.  This event is expected to continue in 2021 so we’re keeping it posted as a bit up preliminary information.  The details of the event are subject to change

Float the Bow with the cool gang and arrive at the Slam Calgary in style! There’s no better way to celebrate surf culture than in the water where it all began!

We are partnering up with Honubelle and Dreamboats to organize a Bow River float as alternative transportation to the hottest festival this summer. Save on gas and beat the heat (and the traffic) by joining us in the water, you’ll roll up just in time to catch all the surf action, bands, artisan market, beach vibes and more at the Slam Calgary’s Main Event.

We’ll meet at Bowness Park at 9 a.m., where we’ll have some refreshments ready for you, last minute bikinis for sale and a floatie blow-up station. This will be our river access point and we will float together to the 10th Street wave. We’ll check our floats in at the entrance, where they will be stored and kept safe for the day.

Feel good about your ticket price going 100% into building surf culture in the city and making the dream of world-class surfing in Calgary a reality. Come hang loose with us!

Tickets Available:

Float Dreamboats $40: This ticket will get you a Slam Festival Main Event ticket (retail value $20), Dreamboat float (retail value $40) and a free event site “floatie check” for the day. Registration deadline is Sunday July 28th.

Float Your Own $15: Bring your own raft and be part of our float. This ticket will get you a Slam Festival Main Event ticket (retail value $20), but you will save $5 because you are supporting our alternative transportation initiative. Way to be green – always the rad choice!

Important: When rafting down Calgary’s waterways, even strong swimmers in shallow, slow-moving water are required to wear lifejackets or personal flotation devices (PFD). Lifejackets are sold at most sports and general goods stores and several local vendors rent them for day use. Remember, there is a mandatory court appearance and up to $500 fine for not wearing a life jacket or PFD on Calgary’s waterways. Safety kits are required on all types of non-powered watercraft including kayaks, canoes, dinghies, inner tubes and rafts.
